Westney Road Widening - South of Telford Street to Taunton Road

Segment 2 of the Westney Road Widening project:

This segment involves the widening and reconstruction of Westney Road to five lanes from north of Rossland Road (south of Telford Street) to north of Taunton Road. The construction will begin in late 2021 and is antipated to be completed by May 2023. Traffic will be maintained through out the duration of construtcion. Westney Road north of Tautnon Road will be closed for up to two months to complete the construction work and further advanced notices will be provided. 

Key features of the construction are:

• Widening to four (4) through lanes with a centre median / left-turn lanes, and right turn lanes;
• Rehabilitation of the existing road;
• Urbanization - curbs and storm sewer installation;
• New street lights and rebuild of traffic signals.
• West boulevard - extension of the existing sidewalk to Taunton Road; and
• East boulevard - construction of a multi-use pathway (MUP) from Rossland Road to Taunton Road;
