The design of this segment of the Courtice Trunk Sanitary sewer has been completed. The crossings of Highway 401 and Tooley Creek are completed and all work is completed up to the Courtice Road and Baseline Road intersection.
Construction of the remainder of the segment on Trulls Road and Baseline Road has started. The contract was awarded to Pachino Construction and commenced May 10 2022. There will be long term closures of both Trulls Road and Baseline Road. Local access will be provided for businesses and residents while the project is underway. The project is expected to be a little over a year in duration hoping to be completed in December 2023
Baseline Road will be open temporarily between Courtice Road and Cigas Road from December 5, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
The work generally consists of installation of a new 2100mm diameter CPP trunk sanitary sewer and 400 mm diameter CPP watermain, both by open cut construction. Other works on Baseline Road between Courtice Road (Regional Road 34) and Trulls Road include road reconstruction with widening and urbanization on the north side, local storm sewers, concrete sidewalk, street lighting and traffic signal infrastructure improvements. On Trulls Road between Baseline Road and Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), the work generally consists of installation of a new 1800 mm diameter CPP trunk sanitary sewer by open cut from Baseline Road to Cigas Road, a new 1800 mm diameter RCP sanitary sewer by microtunnel from Cigas Road to south of Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), a new 300 mm diameter PVC watermain from Baseline Road to Bloor Street (Regional Road 22) by open cut and a section of new 400 mm diameter CPP watermain at the CP Rail crossing by microtunnel. Sanitary sewer extensions for future development to lands east and west of Trulls Road are proposed to be completed by open cut construction
